Venue Winery Wedding Santorini and Taverna Reception • Date 4th of June 2018 • Number of Guests 49 • Budget ££
Why did you choose a modern Winery Wedding Santorini and a Traditional Taverna reception in particular?
I can honestly say choosing these venues was the best decision I could have made. Both venues were out of this world and I’m so glad we chose them.
How long in advance did you book your wedding?
We booked around 18 months before.
How many guests did you invite to your wedding and how many accepted and attended?
We invited around 60 people and 49 attended.
Your dress is so beautiful! We love the lace and detailed back. What make was this and how long did it take you to find ‘the one’?
My dress was out of this world it was all lace and the trail detail was beautiful. The designer was Martina Liana. Finding the dress was actually really easy. I went to two bridal shops and in the second one I bought the first dress I saw when I walked up the stairs and tried on, it was everything I always knew I wanted.
What accessories did you choose to complement your dress?
As my dress had so much detail I didn’t wear many accessories. I wore a hair vine and a bracelet my best friends gave me the night before the wedding. My wedding shoes were from Asos and were just a plain white heel.
We love Mark’s attire! Where was this purchased?
The grooms outfit was harder to find than my dress. He didn’t want a full matching suit so we looked online and saw the suit jacket and chino look and he loved it so he went with that look. We had bit of a nightmare finding the right colour blue for the suit jacket though as he had it in his head what he wanted and couldn’t find it anywhere, we ended up finding one 6 weeks before our wedding which was French Connection and he purchased his stone chino from Asos.
Tell us about your bridesmaids dresses, where did you find these?
The bridesmaid dresses were from Asos, they were off the shoulder and taupe blush.
Your bouquet, were you happy with the result?
My flowers were amazing! I am so glad I found the lady who did our wedding flowers. We booked Paper Flowers and I can’t recommend her enough. I sent her pictures of what I wanted and on the day it was everything I could ever have dreamed of and more, we had so many compliments about them.
Did you theme your modern winery wedding Santorini?
We didn’t really have a theme as such, I just had a look on pinterest and went with what photos I liked. On the day it was just how I pictured it in my head.
Tell us about the finer details that you added to personalise your peach and pink wedding in Santorini.
We decided on cupcakes for the cake and a top tier of cake we could cut. I wanted something a bit different to a normal wedding cake.
The table decoration we had Paper Flowers again which were amazing, the centrepieces were breathtaking.
For entertainment we had a saxophonist and a DJ at night. Then during the reception we had plate smashing which was a must have.
How did you find the planning experience from booking to the big day?
The whole planning experience was the most easiest experience ever! Lisa and the team were so helpful, I don’t think I got stressed about the planning once. I’m a very laid back person and had all my trust that Lisa would make my day amazing and she did and more. I can’t thank her enough.
What’s your best memory from the day?
Just everything about the day was amazing, it was so good to get all of our family together in an amazing place.
What do you think makes a wedding abroad stand out from a wedding in the UK?
From the first day we got engaged we said we would love to get married abroad. We liked the fact you didn’t have to have a big wedding and could just invite close friends and family.
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms who are getting married abroad?
My advice to future brides is just enjoy all the planning and the lead up to the wedding because with a blink of an eye it’s over. You’ve honestly made the best decision getting married abroad and you’ll not regret it.
