Spring is by far my favourite season and is such a pretty time of year to get married. With beautiful blooming flowers, blossoming trees, soft sunshine and the beginning of new life, when could be a better time to begin your new life as a married couple?
Usually when we think spring, we think pastel shades of yellows, pink and lilacs, soft floral patterns and nature but this year we’ve seen a big turnaround with bright colour palettes and bold floral patterns also being added into the spring wedding theme.
Here’s a little inspiration to help you create your perfect spring wedding;
With the climate rising to pleasantly mild during the season of spring, you can pretty much wear any style of wedding dress and feel comfortable. You can opt for a beautiful ball gown style as the temperatures won’t be too hot for you to carry all that material, a lovely light and ‘floaty’ dress in chiffon or silk to catch that spring ocean breeze, a chic open back gown, or a modern tea length dress, perfect if you want to show off a pair of fabulous shoes!
Many brides are even adding a splash of colour into their wedding dress this season with a pretty pastel coloured sash, a touch of colourful embroidery or an all over shade of blush.
I have fallen in love with this beautiful blush Vera Wang wedding gown featured on Bridal Guide.
If you’re a lover of the simple and elegant wedding dress then you can add a sprinkling of spring in the form of some gorgeous jewellery or gasp inducing heels!
Finish off your wedding hair with a lovely floral headpiece, team your wedding gown with a pair of pretty pastel heels for a subtle hint of spring or lap up the current spring wedding trends and add a piece of bold, bright jewellery to make a statement.
The tradition of top hat and tails is far gone and a lot of grooms are now opting for a unique and chic style on their wedding day! If you’re tying the knot in tropical temperatures, a grey or sand coloured suit is a great alternative to a black suit, and adding quirky details such as a coloured shirt, vibrant tie or bow tie, and a floral buttonhole is a great way to reflect your spring theme and add a unique touch.
I could sit and list all day the different fabrics, styles and colours you can dress your bridesmaids in this season, but my favourite and by far the most exciting trend this spring is patterns! Brides are not only dressing their maids in pretty pastel numbers, long flowing maxi dresses and lovely lace gowns but are now styling their maids in an array of bold and vibrant floral patterns, and we just love it!
Style your littlest attendee’s in pretty frocks to add a touch of ‘cuteness’ to your spring wedding, and add a pretty floral hair wreath as a finishing detail.
How sweet are these little pink floral dresses from Monsoon?!
What says spring time more than a beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers. Create your perfect bouquet from roses, calla lilies, daisies and my all time favourite, peony’s in shades of dusky pink, luscious lilac, pastel yellow and vibrant orange! For a real spring time feel, flourish your venue and reception tables also with fresh flowers!
Turn your venue into a spring time wonderland with tons of spring inspired elements. You can use flower petals to scatter around your wedding venue, create floral centrepieces to sit pretty on your reception tables or use beautiful blooms to tie to your chairs for your outside ceremony. However it’s not just flowers which reflect the spring season, I love the idea of styling your venue with strings of bunting, pretty pom poms, bird cages and butterflies.
As spring is all about new life, why not give your guests little packets of seeds as a wedding favour, they can plant their seeds at home and watch the flowers bloom, a great reminder of your wedding day!
If you know anyone getting married this spring, don’t forget to share these lovely ideas, we love spreading wedding inspiration!
