As we’re now only a month away from wedding season beginning in May many of our brides are under way with their final plans, including our Diary of a Destination Bride Louise who is marrying in Santorini at the beautiful Dana Villas on June 18th 2016. Today I’m catching up with the bride to be who is filling me in on where she’s up to with her plans, over to Louise….
Time has flown by since Christmas and we are now less than 3 months away from the big day and well and truly into the final stages of planning. Flowers, decorations, the rings, timings for the day, hair, make up and the table plan (just to name a few!).
All of our guests flights and accommodation have been arranged with guests arriving at various stages prior to the wedding. The hen parties (yes 3 of them!) and stag do are planned and start in a few weeks…but before all of the fun begins we’ve been busy with the serious stuff!
The legal stuff
Having been advised by Lisa and the team of the legal requirements to get married in Greece we paid a visit to the registry office to arrange our certificate of no lawful impediment. We’ve also arranged copies of our birth certificates and most importantly made sure our passports are up to date.
The groom and best man now have their outfits. We really weren’t too sure on whether to choose suits or something cooler. Dan had already been to a wedding in Greece and remembered how hot he was in a suit in the midday heat! We’ve decided on smart tailored shorts, shirts and deck shoes which we sourced in the UK (M&S). We’ve also advised our guests of a smart/casual dress code.
The bridesmaids dresses have also arrived. We’ve gone for long royal blue multi-way style dresses, these were sourced from America where we made a great saving.
We have chosen our menus which was probably the most difficult part for us. It’s difficult to find something to please everyone’s taste whilst sticking to a budget. We wanted to keep with a Greek theme and have gone for two set menus with a range of traditional Greek dishes. So far all of the guests have been happy with our choices…….
We thought we’d introduce the bridal party!
Dave – The best man – The king of one liners
Claire – AKA MOH(Maid of Honour) My second in command – she’s in charge!
Charlotte – The footie loving blonde bombshell bridemaid
Lyndsey – The master baker bridemaid that can melt anyones heart with her baking skills and gorgeous smile
