Diary of a Destination Bride – Kaleigh & Liam: Boho Wedding Themes

Last month we introduced you to our lovely diary of a destination bride couple Kaleigh and Liam who will be tying the knot next year on the beautiful Cameo Island in Zante followed by a reception at Agios Sostis Beach… If you haven’t already then you can meet them here!

This morning Kaleigh is telling us all about her wedding theme ideas and the overall look she hopes to create on her wedding day.. Who doesn’t love a bit of Monday morning inspiration?!

We don’t really have a specific theme for the wedding but I would like the wedding to be Bohemian/beach/hippie/casual and fun, so I guess you could say that’s the unofficial theme. I really just want the day to be a reflection of our personalities.

What was your inspiration?

I’ve always liked bohemian/relaxed things so I knew that I would want my wedding to be that similar style hence why a beach wedding suits us perfectly. I’ve got inspiration from blogs I have been reading but mainly I want to incorporate all the things that we like. Some of my favourite things are tye-dye, dream catchers, candles and all things vintage so I’d like to incorporate those things some how into the wedding (I have sooo many ideas).

What kind of overall feel do you want for your special day?

Mine and Liam’s goal for the overall feel for the day would be relaxed, fun and intimate, I just want everyone to be relaxed and having a great time like us. As most of our guests are staying in the same hotel it will give everyone a chance to really get to know each other before the wedding which will hopefully get rid of any awkwardness I think is common at a wedding at home (at the beginning of the night anyway).

What colours have you chosen to incorporate in your day and what details will include these colours?

I’ve chosen coral for my bridesmaid colour but I’m letting my bridesmaids choose their own dressesas I want them all to be different, so the dresses are going to be (most likely) different shades of coral. I also want different shade’s of peach/pink/nudes/white incorporated so I’ll most likely do that with flowers (bouquet/flower crowns) I would like my bouquet to look really natural, like it was hand picked that morning so maybe lots of greenery in there too. I’d like to keep reception decor pretty simple but romantic with lots of candles in jars, flowers in jars and fairy lights.

What resources are you/have you been using to collect all your ideas and inspiration?

I have been using Pinterest (a lot! It’s so addictive) and Instagram, some of my instagram inspos are ‘Leahhoffman’ (bohemian and wedding idol) ‘hellomaymagazine’ is a good wedding account and ‘gypsystone’ even though it’s not particularly wedding related is good for bohemian inspiration. I’ve also been reading some wedding blogs such as ‘Rock my wedding’ aswell and ‘The Lane’ as their real weddings are of a similar taste to what I like.
