It’s final planning time for Christel and Daniel! With everything now in place for their special day in Santorini in September, the countdown to their celebrations begin….
With under 2 months to go, how are you plans coming along? Is everything in place?
All the major items are all set, its really just the minor details at this point. The most important items for the wedding day itself are planned and all paid for so that’s the biggest thing which we’re happy are all set.
Right now we’re finalizing everything from optional excursions for our guest during the trip, confirming guest hotels for the transportation and of course, I’m also finalizing the many beauty rituals that go along with the wedding day. Getting hair and makeup etc all setup for myself and my bridal party.
My dress just recently arrived as well so final fittings are set for within the next few weeks!
I also had my bridal shower, which was really the first event to kick off all the wedding festivities. My amazing bridal party threw me a lovely and intimate bridal shower in my home with the closest women in my life. It was a great time to reflect on this special moment and share laughs and advice on marriage with my amazing support system of women.
Have you chosen to incorporate any live music/entertainment to your ceremony and reception?
Yes, Daniel and I both love live music. We have chosen to have a live saxophone and guitar player during the ceremony and cocktail hours. We think it will add a great romantic and memorable touch to the day that the guests will be sure to enjoy.
Has Daniel been heavily involved in the planning? From a groom’s perspective, is there anything which Daniel has particularly enjoyed planning?
He’s been involved in all the major decisions and also a select few categories he’s passionate about. All other finer details, he’s allowed me to do research and make the decisions with his regular input on the options. Specific categories he’s been especially involved in include planning the customs, readings and traditions we’ll incorporate during the ceremony, MUSIC, both live and the DJ music he is super passionate about, and the dinner and bar menu. We spent the most time and budget on items we felt our guests would enjoy and remember the most.
Your Hen and Stag Do’s – are these arranged? We’d love to hear what you have planned!
Yes! I have my bachelorette weekend planned with my bridal party in Las Vegas at the end of July. It’ll be nothing short of a fun filled weekend of pool parties and nightclubs with the girls!
Daniel has his bachelor party weekend planned with the boys at the beginning of August in South Lake Tahoe/Reno. Lake Tahoe is one of his favorite places, combining nature, casinos and of course partying! And it happens to be a special event weekend called “Hot August Nights” that features a weekend full of classic car shows which are his passion.
Do you have any pre/after wedding events planned?
So far we’ve planned to have a pre-wedding “Meet and Greet” at a beautiful beach front lounge Lisa helped us discover called Prince. We thought relaxing along the beach with snacks and drinks was a perfect welcome to our wedding festivities.
The evening before the wedding we’ve also planned a very special dinner with just our wedding entourage at the beautiful Argo restaurant on a terrace overlooking the caldera. This will be our special time with our closest circle to thank them for all the amazing support they’ve been through this process and our entire relationship.
What are your honeymoon plans? Are you treating your holiday in Santorini as your honeymoon or are you planning to jet off elsewhere after the wedding/later in the year?
Both. We are big on travelling, so while we will enjoy the beauty of Santorini during the days leading to and after our wedding, we will be proceeding to our honeymoon in Kenya and The Seychelles. Africa has always been one of my personal life dreams and we thought when else could we take the opportunity to embark on such a trip of a lifetime. In Kenya we will be joining the gorgeous safaris in the Masai Mara, while in the Seychelles our schedule will be strictly the beach and lounging by the pool. A combination of adventure and relaxation.
